听她说了半小时。迷茫、不确定、进退两难。

“刚才这段对话，”我说，“你说了五次‘迷茫’。你想过怎么跳出去吗？”

她安静了一分钟。

“徐教练……我需要你的肯定。”

我从口袋摸出一枚硬币。

“好。公是'YES'，字是'NO'。”

抛出去。

落在桌面。字。

“是‘NO’，”我说，“你怎么办？”

她愣了。然后急了。

“不是这样……我坚决要做的，但我害怕做不来。”

“你已经决定了，”我把硬币收起来，“现在看看障碍在哪吧。”

She sat down and her first words were: “Coach David, I feel so lost and confused.”

I didn’t ask for details. I didn’t say “What happened?”

I just listened for half an hour as she talked about her confusion, uncertainty, and feeling stuck between advancing and retreating.

“Throughout that conversation,” I said, “you used the word ‘confused’ five times. Have you thought about how to break out of it?”

She was quiet for a minute.

“Coach David… I need you to give me certainty.”

I took a coin out of my pocket.

“Alright. Heads means Yes, tails means No.”

I flipped it.

It landed on tails.

“It’s a ‘No’,” I said. “So what are you going to do?”

She was stunned, then visibly anxious.

“That’s not what I meant… I’ve already decided what I want to do, but I’m scared I won’t be able to pull it off.”

“You’ve already made the decision,” I said, putting the coin away. “Now let’s look at what’s standing in your way.”
