After the pandemic, he couldn't make decisions. What blocked him wasn't the market - it was not being clear on "what he wants to become in 25 years."
疫情后不敢做决定。卡住他的不是市场,是“25年后想成为什么”没想清楚。
一位开发商跟我说:“疫情之后商业业务一直没回暖,未来发展实在拿不准,不敢轻易做决定。”
我没有给他分析市场。
我们对话了约一个小时。
我问了他一个问题:
“明年是你们公司的25周年庆,你觉得消费者会怎么评价你们这个‘传奇’?”
他沉默了一会儿。
然后说:“……他们会说,我们的项目带给他们的,是温暖的服务和真正的便利。”
就这一句话。他没再纠结“回暖不回暖”。他带着团队,从“25周年庆消费者想听到什么”倒推,把未来一年的方向一条一条理了出来。
决策不再卡了。团队也知道该往哪走了。

A developer told me, "Business hasn't recovered since the pandemic. I can't see the future clearly. I'm afraid to make decisions."
I didn't analyze the market for him.
We talked for about an hour.
I asked him one question:
"Next year is your company's 25th anniversary. What do you think your customers will say about your 'legend'?"
He paused for a while.
Then he said: "…They'll say our projects brought them warm service and real convenience."
That one sentence.
He stopped agonizing over "whether the market will recover." He took his team and worked backwards from "what customers want to hear at the 25th anniversary." One by one, they mapped out the direction for the coming year.
Decisions stopped being stuck. The team also knew which way to go.
